Meet your volunteer coaches!

Sean Sargent, President and co-founder, 8/9 yr old Girls Head Coach
Sean has had a stick in his hand since he was 14. He played his college lacrosse as a 2-year starter at defense for nationally ranked Villanova University, and played post-college for many top tier competitive clubs including 1 year of professional lacrosse for the Boston Blazers of the MILL. Sean was assistant coach for his high school alma mater, Fairfield Prep, and helped bring them to the CT state playoffs. Sean is a 10 year Hoboken resident, and is raising his two children here.

Rebecca Price, Girls Program Leader

Rebecca has been playing lacrosse since she was in 7th grade, always a defender. She was the captain of her high school team, a member of the Midwest National Team, and a High School All American. She went on to play at the University of Pennsylvania. Rebecca is a 15 year resident of Hoboken, and has 2 daughters, both HLC players as well. This is her 4th year coaching the 3rd/4th grade team.

Mike Mariniello, Boys Program Leader

Michael grew up in Verona, NJ and has lived in Hoboken since 2003.  He attended Boston College as an undergraduate and Teachers College, Columbia University for graduate school.  Mike played varsity football, basketball and tennis in High School and currently plays rec league hockey with several other folks he coaches with for the Jersey City Capitals Youth Hockey Club.  Mike has coached hockey with the Capitals for 8 years and is currently the club president as well as the Secretary of the New Jersey Youth Hockey League.  He has 3 kids that all attend the Hoboken Public schools.  Two of his kids are still in Hoboken Lacrosse club and his oldest just finished playing for the 7/8 team in the spring of 2021.  Mike has coached the 3/4 Boys team since 2018 and loves teaching skills to kids that are new to the sport.

TJ DeSantis, VP and 3rd/4th Grade Boys Head Coach
TJ is a graduate of the University at Buffalo. At Buffalo, he was a 5 year starter on defense and President of the club lacrosse team. He played high school lacrosse in South Huntington, NY. This is TJ's fourth year with the Hoboken Lacrosse Club and second year coaching the 3rd/4th grade boys team.

Nick Pizzo, 3rd/4th Grade Boys Coach
Nick started playing Lacrosse in 2001 with the N. Brunswick youth lacrosse programs and the S. Brunswick middle school lacrosse team. In High School, Pizzo’s family had moved to Atlanta where he played Varsity Boys Lacrosse all four years, earning All-State Honorable Mention long-stick mid-fielder in 2008. In College, Pizzo first played club lacrosse at Georgia State University. He was then recruited to play NCAA DIII lacrosse at Oglethorpe University where he earned All-Conference long-stick mid-fielder in 2013. Following college graduation, Pizzo moved to Shanghai, China, where he played for Shanghai’s Men’s team; touring throughout SE Asia while competing in multiple tournaments. In 2014 and 2015, Pizzo coached Team China Men’s Lacrosse team in the nation's debut year to the World Lacrosse Championships. Pizzo’s coaching philosophy is not just about lacrosse, it’s about life: Grind it out & take it to the house."

Jimmy Vaughan, 5th/6th Grade Boys Head Coach
Jimmy grew up in Ridgewood, NJ. He now lives in Hoboken. Jimmy learned the sport of lacrosse from his dad who played in college. Jimmy has been playing lacrosse for over 20 years and has been coaching for 15 years. He played club lacrosse at the University of Scranton.

Pete Franco, 5th/6th Grade Boys Coach

Charlie Bunting, 5th/6th Grade Boys Coach

Charlie grew up in Virginia and played Division One lacrosse at the Virginia Military Institute as a Defensive Midfielder where he also earned a degree in Arabic 4 months before 9/11. He served as an Operations Officer at the Defense Intelligence Agency for 10 years and deployed to Iraq three times with a Special Operations Unit, spending most of his service at DIA in the Middle East. Charlie fled NYC to Hoboken 4 years ago to join Coalition Films where he is an Independent Film Producer. He practices Muay Thai and is a hopeless Red Sox fan with his dog, a 9lb ewok named Fenway.

Jamie Arestia, 5th/6th Grade Boys Coach

Jamie grew up in New Canaan, CT and started playing lacrosse in the third grade. As a senior at New Canaan High School, he was a team captain and earned all-State honors. He went on to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Pennsylvania, and was a four-year letterwinner. He has lived in Hoboken for over ten years and has a son on the 5th/6th grade team. He works for a software company based in New York City.

William Thompson, 5th/6th Grade Boys Coach

Will started playing lacrosse at 6 years old on Long Island, NY. After his family moved to Vermont, he became a US Lacrosse High School All-American attackman and achieved All-State honors at South Burlington High School where he won two Division I Vermont State Championships. In college, Will was a four-year starter on the James Madison University Men's Lacrosse team and earned All-Tournament honors in the 2016 NCLL National Tournament. Will currently resides in Hoboken, NJ where he works as a personal trainer and speed performance coach. This is Will's first year coaching Hoboken Lacrosse. 

Guy Columbro, 7th/8th Grade Boys Head Coach
Guy grew up outside of Philadelphia and played 4 years of Varsity Lacrosse at Roman Catholic High School earning All Catholic Honors Junior and Senior year at the Attack position. Guy then continued his lacrosse career at Cabrini College as a Midfielder/Attack, a division III program based in Radnor, PA. After college, Guy coached at Upper Dublin High School in PA for 2 years, working with the LB3 All-Star Travel Program in the summer months. This is Guy's 3rd season with the Hoboken Lacrosse Club working closely with the 7th/8th grade Midfield and Attack.  

Michael Reilly, 7th/8th Grade Boys Coach

Michael grew up in Ridgewood, NJ. Played lacrosse at Bergen Catholic High School, where he was a starter, is the All time points/assists leader at Bergen Catholic and a member of the first ever Bergen Catholic State championship team. Michael played Division 1 lacrosse at Siena College where he was a starter on Attack, and is a 29 person member of the 100+ plus club. Michael resides in Hoboken currently.

Alexander Giacchi, 7th/8th Grade Boys Coach

Alex grew up in Morristown, NJ and began playing lacrosse in 5th grade for the town recreational league. Alex then went on to play lacrosse at Seton Hall Prep in West Orange where he played defensive midfield for 2 years on varsity. Alex graduated in 2015 and went on to play Division I club lacrosse at Loyola University MD where he played midfield and graduated in 2019. Alex has deep family roots to Hoboken as it is where both his parents grew up and a majority of his family still resides. He moved back into the area in fall 2019 following his graduation from Loyola and currently works at Capital One within their Food & Beverage commercial lending group as a Relationship Manager.

Mike Duffy, 7th/8th Grade Boys Coach

Mike Duffy grew up in the lacrosse hotbed of Long Island and was a starting defenseman with perennial powerhouse Ward Melville H.S., where he earned one state championship and one runner-up. Recruited to Cornell University, he continued his lacrosse career there and upon graduation coached and played for the Boardman & Eccles lacrosse club in Manchester, England as part of the English Lacrosse Association. A Hoboken resident since 2010, he has recently picked up his stick to help the next generation appreciate the joy of the game.

Gianna Santaniello, 3rd/4th Grade Girls Coach

Gianna grew up in Freehold, NJ where she started playing lacrosse when she was 14. She was the captain of the Freehold Township High School Varsity Lacrosse Team, a member of the 2014 All-FRHSD Team, and a recipient of the Scholar Athlete Award. She went on to play Division III lacrosse at Muhlenberg College before she transferred to the University of Delaware. Gianna moved to the Hoboken/Jersey City area in 2020. She is currently on the Global Talent Acquisition Team for The TJX Companies and is a licensed Real Estate Agent in New Jersey. This is Gianna's first year coaching and she is so excited!

Joyce Simons, 3rd/4th Grade Girls Coach

Joyce grew up in Taiwan and has lived in Hoboken since 2007.  She moved to the US and attended boarding school at Northfield Mt. Hermon in Massachusetts where she learned to play and love the game of lacrosse.  She is a mom to 3 new lacrosse players and currently serves as a Trustee of the Hoboken Board of Education.  She has coached youth hockey for the past 5 years. 

Mary Bonatakis, 3rd/4th Grade Girls Coach

Mary grew up in Freehold, NJ where she started playing lacrosse in 5th grade with CJLAX and continued to play at Freehold Township High School on the Varsity Team. While Seton Hall University did not have a lacrosse team Mary continues to play in Women’s leagues, play with friends and takes any chance she can to pick up her stick. Mary works as a Tax Accountant at Ernst and Young, moved to Hoboken in 2021 is super excited to take on her first season with the girls.

Amberlee Majewski, 3rd/4th Grade Girls Coach

Hualing Yu, 5th/6th Grade Girls Coach

Hualing is a lacrosse enthusiast Made In China. Hualing started playing lacrosse in Shanghai in 2011. As a member of Chinese national team, Hualing has competed in multiple international tournaments including Women’s Lacrosse World Cup in 2017. Hualing started her coaching journey in 2018 with the Warriors right after she moved to Jersey City. Besides lacrosse coach, she is also a data scientist working for a data consulting company in NYC.

Kristin Troianello, 5th/6th Grade Girls Coach

Kristin grew up in West Windsor, NJ where she started playing lacrosse in 5th grade with Lighting Lacrosse. Kristin played as a low attacker all the way through high school. While in high school she would assist her high school coach during the summer coaching camps. Kristin went on to play for a short time at Roanoke College in Virginia. Kristin has lived in Hoboken for three years. This is Kristin’s first year coaching with Hoboken Lacrosse. Kristin works as a Junior Financial Analyst for White & Case LLP in NYC.

Nisha Nadkar, 5th/6th Grade Girls Coach

Sally Ryan, 7th/8th Grade Girls Coach

Sally grew up in Mountain Lakes, NJ where she started playing lacrosse in 2nd grade. She was the captain of her Mountain Lakes High School team and went on to play Division III field hockey and lacrosse at Middlebury College. Sally was a 4 year starter on her lacrosse team and dual sport Captain of her field hockey and lacrosse team her senior year. She earned First-Team All-American honors her senior year in lacrosse, in addition to being named First Team All-Conference in both field hockey and lacrosse. Sally moved to Hoboken in 2019 and is a physical therapist and Director at SportsCare Physical Therapy in Hoboken. Sally is excited to be returning to coaching the game and is looking forward to being a part of such a fun and passionate program.

Erin Kelly, 7th/8th Grade Girls Coach

Erin grew up in Jackson, NJ where she picked up lacrosse in high school after playing many sports throughout her life. She fell in love with the game and continued to play club lacrosse in college. During the summer months, she spent time coaching soccer and lacrosse to special needs children. When she moved to Hoboken in 2019 her passion for coaching led her to join the 7/8 girls team. Erin works in marketing for BarkBox where she gets to spoil dogs all day long (including her new puppy Wilson!).   

Molly DiGregory, 7th/8th Grade Girls Coach

Molly grew up in Chestertown, Maryland and started playing lacrosse at 8 years old. She played for her middle school, local rec team and club team CCLax before attending and playing for the Severn School. Molly went on to play at Stevens Institute of Technology for her first two years before moving on to head up the club team for her final two years at Stevens. Molly graduated Stevens in May of 2021 and currently works for a consulting firm in NYC. This is Molly’s first year coaching Hoboken Lacrosse and she is very excited!
